Tips to help manage pain

1. Always think positively. “Your attitude will affect your altitude.”

2. Follow your doctor’s orders.

3. Take medication on a schedule.

4. Follow a strict diet. “You are what you eat.”

5. Limit exposure to sun and UV rays, black lights.

6. Limit caffeine intake.

7. Exercise 2-3 times weekly. Exercise helps you maintain strength and a healthy weight.

8. Take time to REST. Your body needs sleep to recover.

9. Say No. It is okay to communicate openly with your support system about the pain you’re are feeling.

10. Drink water throughout the day.

11. Use Ice to reduce swelling in joints.

12. Use heat to loosen tension in muscle.

13. Write down any unusual emotions, or pains and contact your doctor immediately.
